Billy Demong, Olympic Gold Medalist in Nordic Skiing

Billy grew up jumping in the Lake Placid Ski Club. A cross country skier as soon as he could walk, he added the longer skis when he was 8 and fell in love with Nordic Combined. After a World Cup career spanning 5 Olympic games, he retired from the competitive side following the 2015 World Championships in Falun, Sweden. Having played a major role in developing USA Nordic Sports from its origins as USA Ski Jumping, adding Nordic Combined and ushering in many of the organizations key donors, Demong took on the role of Executive Director in the spring of 2016 because of his love for the sport and desire to see the organization find athletic and financial sustainability. 

Demong is America’s first Olympic Gold Medalist in Nordic Skiing and in addition to his passion for skiing has experience as the Global Marketing Director at Reynolds Cycling and longer term experience as a Board Member USA Nordic and the National Nordic Foundation (NNF).


Adam Wasserman

Adam Wasserman, Managing Partner, GLD Partners

Adam Wasserman is GLDPartners Managing Partner and has a senior background in economic strategy, project finance, infrastructure development, ports management and public policy. Adam has an extensive knowledge of transportation, global logistics, infrastructure, economic development and finance.

Adam has experience in the public and private sectors in the US and Europe in senior leadership roles in ports and economic development. Adam planned and delivered large infrastructure and property projects such as the redevelopment of a 350 acre site to a maritime-oriented industrial district, a new $600M marine terminal & 1200 acre international logistics park and the development of a port hinterland district around the UK’s largest ports complex. Adam has public policy experience in the US and Europe leading efforts to gain support from the US federal government, UK Government and the EU.

She negotiates credits and incentives for new and expanding companies nationwide, helping them maximize return on investment. Her tenacity and creativity have built a record of success in property tax abatement, sales tax refunds, cash grants, and Tax Increment Financing (TIF). In addition, she assists companies with various credits including research and development (R&D), Enterprise Zones and WOTC. While manufacturing and data center space leads her list of specialties, clients of all sizes and industries seek out Ms. Newbold’s over 20 years of professional expertise.
